A yoni massage is a form of tantric bodywork in which the yoni—the Sanskrit word for the female reproductive organ—is touched with attention, consent, and clear boundaries. The massage focuses on relaxation, body awareness, and deepening your connection with your own body.
This page explains what a yoni massage entails, how a session proceeds, who it's suitable for, and what you can and can't expect.

What exactly does a yoni massage entail?
A yoni massage is a professional form of tantric bodywork that revolves entirely around safety, consent, and body awareness. During a session, not only is the yoni touched, but the entire body is engaged in a calm, attuned progression.
Depending on the woman's wishes and boundaries, the massage can include both external and internal contact with the yoni. This is always done in harmony, with respect for pace, comfort, and emotional safety.
The goal of a yoni massage is not sexual stimulation, but to deepen relaxation and reconnect with the body. Many women experience increased body awareness, softness, and confidence in their own boundaries.
A yoni massage is not a medical treatment or a sexual service. There is a clear division of roles between giver and receiver, without any mutual sexual interaction. The receiver maintains control over the pace, boundaries, and intensity throughout the session and can adjust or stop at any time.
The sessions are offered in a safe, professional setting by an experienced tantric massage therapist, with attention to ethics, integrity, and careful guidance.
More about your yoni
A yoni massage is a treatment for the yoni, which is a Sanskrit word that refers to the female sexual organ, the vagina. Why is this zone not allowed to be ignored?
- The yoni is a source of very powerful energy. When this sexual energy can be released during the massage and spread over the body, you enter a state of higher vibration. This is experienced as a boost of life energy and this feeling is retained by some even 2-3 weeks after the massage.
- The yoni is structurally in the body of the woman herself and functions as a storehouse for emotions and traumas. This can lead to blockages and a range of common female health problems (see below), such as having difficulty or not experiencing an orgasm, which unfortunately is more common than you might think.
- When blockages in and around the yoni are removed and healed, you will regain more connection and feeling in your yoni. Step by step you learn to enjoy your body in its totality again.
The tantra and yoni massage contain techniques from the ancient Ayurvedic health system combined with the knowledge of the sexual component of tantra. In this way a unique fusion of healing (Ayurveda) with awakening and enjoyment (Tantra) is created.
How does a yoni massage work?
By treating certain points in and around the yoni, your life energy can be awakened and released. Via tantric techniques, a sublimation of this energy then takes place to the higher chakras, so that a restorative effect can take place with sometimes spiritual, physical, emotional, sexual and mental effects.
The actual yoni massage only happens after treatment of the rest of the body. In this way there is already a feeling of relaxation, comfort and a confidence in the therapist. This promotes the opening of important energy channels in the body.
Activating certain pressure / energy points during the external yoni massage activates the energy and stimulates the lubrication of the yoni so that in a next step the therapist can proceed to the internal yoni massage.
During the internal massage the status of the tissues is checked and it is determined whether there are zones that are insensitive or feel too hot. By giving these the necessary attention, possible blockades can be eliminated. The location of important zones such as the G-spot is determined. Some women are used to too fast penetration with too little foreplay. Their G-spot has therefore never been 'activated', they close further away from it and react with pain. As long as a woman has no connection with this point, she will have little to no pleasure in stimulating it.
Awakening the (sexual) energy through the yoni massage with the right touch, performed in harmony with care and attention, can provide a multitude of positive effects (see below).
The massage is closed in a relaxed way so that the woman feels energetic and harmonious.
Who is a yoni massage suitable for?
A tantric yoni massage can be useful for women in the case of:
- Sexual hindrances such as lack of desire and low libido
- Not experiencing sensations or orgasms
- Vaginismus and tense pelvic floor muscles
- Dyspareunia and/or painful sexual experiences
- Cystitis
- Severe menstruation symptoms
- Wanting to prepare for childbirth during pregnancy
- Common fungal infection or bacterial overgrowth in the vagina (instead of the normal "flora")
- Endometriosis (overgrowth of uterine lining in the abdominal cavity)
A yoni massage goes to the core of the health problems and sexual blockages. As a woman you are healed from within and you discover the true meaning of sexual liberation. When you experience profound, satisfying sexual experiences from then on, this can even change you as a person.
Boundaries and safety
During a yoni massage, consent is paramount. The massage takes place within clear professional boundaries. There is no sexual activity or intercourse. The receiving woman always determines the pace, intensity, and boundaries and can pause or stop the session at any time.
Only when you, as a woman, feel completely safe and can give trust, is it possible to leave your mind and gradually descend deeper into yourself, possibly even to a state of complete surrender where the energetic aspects of a session can occur.
Effects of a yoni massage

The effects of a yoni massage can vary from person to person. This massage is not a substitute for medical treatment or advice from a healthcare provider. The experiences and effects described are individual and based on experiential and spiritual observations within tantric massage.
A yoni massage doesn't have to have a specific goal and is an enriching experience for every woman. You'll rarely experience a similar setting in everyday life, making it a completely new experience for over 90% of women.
In addition to the general effects of a tantra massage, a yoni massage can provide a further deepening:
- Rejuvenation of the whole body
- Some women experience relief from tension-related complaints such as depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), eating disorders, anxiety disorders, headaches, hypochondria, ... (often linked to neuroticism)
- Sensitizing the genitalia
- Increases sexual awareness and orgasmic potential
- Alleviates blockages
- Releases powerful stored or stuck sexual energy
- Increases self-confidence and happiness

FAQ - Yoni massage: 25 practical questions every woman asks
It's always important for women to be as well-informed as possible. This way, you won't have any questions or concerns during the session itself, making it easier to get out of your head and drift into a deeper state of relaxation. Below are the answers to 25 frequently asked questions about yoni massage.
1. Is there an introductory meeting beforehand?
Yes, always. There's room for an honest conversation before every session.
I'll listen to your story, any tensions or themes, and we'll decide together what will and won't happen.
2. How long does a session last?
A session usually lasts between 2.5 and 3 hours if a yoni massage is also included.
This includes, in addition to the massage itself, an introductory meeting and a short closing conversation.
It's not a "quick treatment," but a moment of me-time where you have the time to fully relax and surrender, both physically and mentally.
3. How can I prepare for the session?
When you schedule a session, I'll also send you some guidelines and tips that you can follow before, during, and after the session if you like. You don't need to bring anything. However, if you prefer, you can wear comfortable clothing and perhaps eat something light beforehand. And most importantly: come with an open heart, without expectations.
4. What if I'm nervous or intimidated?
That's perfectly understandable. Yoni massage is intimate and vulnerable. Many women feel nervous before their first session. Even regular clients who have been dozens of times always say they still find it nerve-wracking. One reason for this is that each session can be a different experience than the last; a tantra or yoni massage is never the same!
At the start of the session, we first build trust through an introduction. You'll notice that your nerves will subside or disappear quite quickly. You always decide what happens—your boundaries are sacred.
5. Is there communication during the massage?
I don't normally initiate communication during the session. But I invite you to express what you're feeling, what you need, or if something isn't right. Your voice is welcome.
6. Is a yoni massage the same as an erotic massage?
No. Although touch is intimate, the purpose of yoni massage is therapeutic and energetic.
It's not about arousal or sex, but about connection, healing, and feeling.
7. Can my partner or friend come to the session?
Yes, that's possible. Some women feel safer with their partner present.
Or you can request a couples session together, depending on what you're looking for.
8. Will you only use hands, or will you also use other tools?
I'll use my hands and sometimes my forearms while massaging you with warm, natural almond oil. Sometimes I'll also use gentle energetic techniques or breathwork, but no tools.
9. Do I have to undress completely?
No, you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with.
Some women keep their underwear on for the first part of the massage.
If you feel safe taking it off at some point, that's perfectly fine. Everything happens step by step, at your own pace. A yoni massage is certainly not mandatory.
10. Do I have to be shaved?
It's not required, but it is recommended to trim or shave intimately. Long hair can be quite a challenge during oil massage.
11. Is it possible to reach a climax during the massage?
That's possible, but it's not a goal. Some women experience an orgasm, others none at all—and that's just as valuable. We focus on feeling, not on performance. The pelvis is a living area; it's allowed to move. Vibrations, contractions, or energy buildup are all normal.
It means something is moving—and that's very positive!
12. Can I have a yoni massage if I'm on my period?
Within tantra and for me personally, this is not a problem, as long as you feel comfortable with it.
Some women feel the need for gentleness and healing at that time. If you wish, you can wear a tampon or menstrual cup during the first part of the massage, and remove it just before the yoni massage, if it is included.
13. Can I do this if I have an IUD or diaphragm?
Yes, that's usually fine. I'll be extra mindful of internal contact and stay tuned to your feelings. Please let me know beforehand.
14. Can I have a yoni massage if I have vaginismus or pain during sex?
Yes, and it can even be part of a healing process. The yoni massage consists of an external and internal part. I work with gentle touch, and in the moment, we listen to your body and see what's possible. Nothing is forced.
15. Can I do this if I have trauma or negative sexual experiences?
Yes — a tantra or yoni massage can be incredibly healing in those situations.
Everything happens with full consent, at your own pace. But it is important that you feel safe and that we can talk about it openly.
16. Can I do this if I'm pregnant?
Yes, with adjustments. In early pregnancy or the third trimester, gentle touch is often very welcome. We usually leave out the internal work unless you explicitly request it and it feels safe.
17. What if I don't feel anything during the massage?
That's perfectly okay. Sometimes the nervous system is still cautious or closed, especially after stress or trauma.
You relearn how to feel. We don't force anything.
18. What if I get aroused?
That's normal too. Arousal is energy that moves—there's no need to be ashamed of it.
In tantra, we make space for everything that lives in your body, without anything having to "happen."
19. What if I have to cry or laugh?
Everything is allowed. Tantra or yoni massage can release deep emotions—sadness, relief, even laughter or shaking. That's not a "problem"; it's actually healing. You don't have to hold anything back. I'm here for you as a spaceholder so you can sink deeper into yourself.
20. Is yoni massage also suitable if I don't have (or want to have) a sexual relationship?
Absolutely. Yoni massage is about your relationship with your own body—not about sexuality with someone else. You don't need an active sex drive or partner to benefit from this.
21. Is this the same as yoni de-armouring?
Tantra or yoni massage can incorporate techniques similar to de-armouring, but not always.
De-armouring focuses on releasing blockages in muscle or connective tissue.
In my sessions, the approach is gentler, more energetic, and I always try to create a deep flow.
22. Is yoni massage spiritual?
That depends on you. Some women experience it as purely physical, others as deeply spiritual.
I work with respect for both worlds—without dogma or vagueness.
23. Should I tell my partner if I'm having a yoni massage?
That's entirely your choice. Some women want to share it with their partner, as part of openness in the relationship. Others feel it's something they want to do for themselves first, without having to justify themselves.
It's important to realize: a yoni massage isn't about breaking the rules of fidelity—it's about self-care.
But if your partner struggles with this, it can be helpful to talk together about what it really is and what it isn't.
A good partner will ultimately be happy that you're taking care of yourself and coming home to your body.
24. What happens after the massage?
Afterward, there's time to lie down, talk, or just be in silence.
Some women feel very open or emotional—that's normal.
I recommend not scheduling any busy appointments afterward.
25. How many sessions are needed for an effect?
That varies. Sometimes a single session can bring about a profound shift.
But for tension-related issues or trauma, the process can unfold over several sessions.
You'll sense what's right for you.
Experience yoni massage
Experiencing a yoni massage is an invitation to consciously and respectfully connect with your body, your boundaries, and your emotions. During a session, relaxation, presence, and attunement are central, all within a safe setting.
This form of tantric massage can be supportive in deepening body awareness, releasing tension, and (re)discovering sensitivity and vitality. Each session is unique and tailored to your specific needs at that moment.
If you're curious whether a yoni massage is right for you, or if you'd like to book a session, you can submit a request using the appointment form or send me a message via the contact page.
If you don't feel comfortable at the moment to receive this massage from a man, you can also choose a female therapist via the therapists page. Everyone listed here agrees to the Code of ethics listed on the site.
If you opt for the yoni massage, it does not necessarily have to take place. During the massage itself permission is always requested and both you and the therapist can decide that it is not the right time for this.
